April Fool's Rouse

                         

Today being April Fool's day, just seems like any other day! But, I guess I

spoke too soon! No.. I was not made a fool of nor did I make a fool of myself. Its just one of those days where your intelligence speaks for itself. A simple question took me into a tunnel of psychedelic spirals. And, the moment of introspection was “How many states in INDIA?”

What.. say that again.. How quickly can I recover from my state of oblivious bliss. How many are there. I did make an attempt. Sadly, I reached 20. I was just 8 short! And, for the life of me I couldnt state them with confidence. After many repeats, ticks, guesses, head-scratching.. I was still not able to complete the set!

And, to top it all there are 7 Union Territories. Hmmm.. I went circumvoluting again.. this time into a state of complete befuddlement! Despite racking my “little” brain, I couldn't remember my history lessons to save my life. Forget remembering, I couldn't even recollect scenes from our great Bollywood movies or episodes from the idiot box.

How did we reach this stage of the unknown. Sad to say, but there are a lot we need to learn from our great Country. Aren't we rich in everything else? We seem to know a lot of other things.. What was Chandler's pet name in School? How long was Kim Kardashian married to Kris Humphries? When was the Royal Wedding? What are Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Prada? Etc.. etc.. etc..

Nothing much has changed in the last 65 Years.. Guess we are still governed by the outside forces, and this also includes our brains and minds. Its time to wake up from our amnesic dream. If not, what are we going to teach our Children. We need to be proud of where we come from. Not trying to be a Patriot here, but at the end of the day (or night) its the little things that matter.
