Name one person who doesn’t like Bollywood masala..! [Actually
there are a few.. but for the purpose of this entry.. let’s just pretend there
are none ;)]
I for one, love the entertainment. Like the general
public says, its leave-your-brain-at-home slapstick comedy. And, don’t forget
the song and dance routine. I’m sure a few calories can be lost trying to
imitate the steps. Also, increases blood circulation, I hear.. eh! Not sure..
but it does. Maybe, I need to try a few steps just to make sure.. ;)
<Pause for effect.. While I turn up the volume on my
TV>
Well, I am back.. And, it’s safe to say that you will
survive the jhatkas and matkas.. You will never know it unless you try. <smiles>
Apart from the comedies and dances, there are quite a few
films that have made its mark. I wont name them and bore you with it.. All I can
say is that these numbers are rapidly increasing. And, I have the movie buffs
to thank for this. You have definitely upped your taste and style. More and
more, art films are making its introductions in theaters. And, boy, do I feel
the magic in the air.
But, having said and done that.. I still prefer the
good-old Bollywood. I don’t mind SRK flaring his hands wide, looking up in the
sky (as if).. who wouldn’t like to see Madhuri Dixit gain control of her heavy ghaghara
while she swings her hips to music.. And, what about Akshay Kumar performing
one of those dare-devil stunts.. (being a woman.. I don’t mind Piggy Chops
jumping over loops too.) Let’s not forget the star kids debuting in the
industry. Wow.. They are a force to be reckoned with.
Personally, old school is still the best. My movie
collection has quite a few I watch over & over & over again! Like seriously,
I can say the dialogues by-heart.. [actually, NOT.. but it’s good to have
confidence in myself] But, technology is turning scenes these days. There is a
barrage of new-age equipments making its existence felt now-a-days. But, I do
love the evolution..
Music has taken a turn for the better too..! Thank you! You,
musicians, singers, directors, truly deserve the praise. Love the melodies and
tempo in the music.
Why go to Hollywood or other foreign films, when the
magic is created right here in our country! And, there are lesser inspired
(read: copied) stories doing the rounds these days.. [Wishful thinking, I know].
So, listen up, take notice and put on your dancing
shoes..
Let’s escape to the
land of romance, good vs evil and happily-ever-afters (in most cases)..
How can we ever get tired of the nothing-can-beat-us-down-heroes,
(no.. seriously.. no amount of spraying bullets can stop him)
Dance-to-every-tune heroines (who are always about 20 years junior to the
heroes)
And, can-do-the-evil-laugh-at-any-given-moment-villains..
(Got to love the sound effects here)

Hey! this is my first time here and it looks like fun. :) When it comes to Bollywood, i prefer old school drama too, and i mean the Baazigar-Darr-KHKN, Andaaz Apna Apna era. (yep, u guessed it, was an SRK fan :P) some of the dialogues still remain in my subconscious and rear its head at the most unlikely of situations - which can be attributed to the incessant playing and replaying of the worn out video cassettes when growing up! Nonetheless, happy memories! :) How else can i pass on wisdom such as 'Kabhi kabhi kuch jeetney ke liye, kuch harna parta hai, aur harke jeetney waaley ko baazigar kehtey hain'! to my nephew?! :P
your nephew is very lucky indeed to have an aunt like you. Haffy advising and quoting. Got to love Bolloywood for such moments.. Cheers.. :)
